Ceramics and Tapestries

Clymene grew up in Millmerran and was a member of the Bringalilly CWA. She followed in her mother’s footsteps with a love of knitting, craft, and needlework. After she married, her and husband Frank moved to Biloela where Clymene started hobby ceramics. In 1987, they moved to Stanthorpe, and she developed a number of ceramic techniques including making greenware, using various types of glazes, and trying various methods of kiln firing whilst attending Rosenthal Ceramics classes in Warwick. From there, Clymene purchased her own kiln starting her own ceramics business as well as teaching night classes at her home. Her artistic flair has delivered an amazing array of ceramic items including jugs, ornaments, teapots, plates, vases, chess pieces and boards. In 2003, Clymene returned to the Millmerran district and became member of the Millmerran craft group.
