Showcase of Decoupage

by Jenny Mayall

Jenny was born and bred at Yarranlea, between

Pittsworth and Millmerran. Her work is a traditional  decorative art of clear-coating over chosen paper designs on chosen surfaces, for example  boxes, eggs, candle sticks, table tops, little surfaces to become brooches.

After each coating there comes a sanding, and this is repeated up to 40 times, to give a strong and beautiful result. Jenny has assembled for us a lovely collection including emu eggs, trays, boxes, brooches and

many other items.

Jenny’s exhibit is complimented by 5 paintings from the Millmerran Community Art Collection. These pieces are all by local artists and were gifted to the community by the artist or purchased on behalf of the community by the then Millmerran Shire Council.
